CONSULTANT PALLIATIVE MEDICINE AND GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Paul is a Professor in the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University. He is the Medical Director at Hillcroft House Research Hub, and a Consultant in Palliative Medicine for South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. He is dual trained and maintains his General Practice skills by working for the North East Ambulance Service.
In addition to these roles he works as a CQC Specialist Advisor, is trained as a medical expert witness and a medical examiner. He is an honorary lecturer at Newcastle and Glasgow University. As well as being the youngest ever President of the Highland Medical Society, he represented the North of Scotland Royal College of GPs on the end-of-life care bill. He is a Q member, which is an initiative connecting people with improvement expertise across the UK, led by the health foundation and supported and co-funded by NHS Improvement.
He sits on the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh’s newly appointed Consultant’s Committee. Paul was awarded runner up for the prestigious RCGP Scottish GP of the year in 2011/12. In 2021 he was nominated for Inverclyde Dr of the year for his support to training Drs on the frontline in COVID. Finally he contributed to the Palliative care COVID guidelines in Scotland.

Professor Adam Crizzle
Adam is a Professor in the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University where he teaches national and international postgraduate students. His core area of interest is human behaviour and emotional responses and how increased levels of self-understanding can correlate with increasing confidence and resilience levels.
He is an Executive Coach and Life Coach and works with clients internationally to help them either develop their careers or to create tailored strategies to help them overcome anxiety levels. Adam is also a CPD Standards Office Accredited Speaker.
Ryan Marcovich


Ryan Marcovich
Ryan Marcovich is a Psychotherapist qualified in Rational-Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (RECBT). He uses CBT to treat mental health illnesses, ranging from mild to moderate health issues as well as relational problems and childhood issues. He tailors his clinical approach depending on the needs of the individuals and the problems they would like to address. Ryan is currently working in private practice but has also has many years of experience in NHS services in England.
Ryan began his work experience within this sector in 1997 and mainly worked with adults, which included those with specialist needs. Later, he joined Primary Care Psychology services within the NHS and opened a clinic for his private practice. He qualified with an undergraduate degree in Psychology, completed a Certificate in Counselling skills, and qualified with a Masters’ degree in RECBT. Currently completing his Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology.
As a highly-trained Psychotherapist, he has experience in helping to manage emotional difficulties, relationship issues, stress in the work environment, and difficult life experiences. In order to cope with everyday problems, he offers one-to-one and couples therapy, he manages addictions (drugs and alcohol), he is also trained with anger management, anxiety (including PTSD, OCD, GAD, panic, health anxiety & social anxiety), depression and stress. He is also a member of several organisations, including the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists and the British Psychological Society.
