Adam has been involved in the development of the IBA framework since it was conceived in 1979.

Adam is a Professor in the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University where he teaches national and international postgraduate students. He also teaches on a Health, Well-being and Performing with Confidence Programme, alongside Katharine Lam, Senior Tutor in Piano and Piano Pedagogy at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
He is a CPD Standards Office accredited speaker and a regular public speaker. With over three decades within the fields of Human Behaviour, Research, Statistical Forecasting, Logistics and Education, his key area of interest is the understanding of human behaviour and emotional responses and how increased levels of self-understanding can correlate with increasing confidence and resilience levels.
He is the Managing Director and Research Director at Hillcroft House Research Hub CIC and an Executive Career Coach, Life Coach and Leadership Trainer. He uses the holistic IBA framework, which is embedded in an MSc at Birmingham City University, when he works with clients internationally to help them either develop their careers or to create tailored strategies to help them overcome anxiety levels.
