Dr Kim Orton has teaching and lecturing experiences across the age range – initially in Young Offender Education, in nursery (SEND) as an LEA Advisor in Early Education. She has managed Child Care and Education programmes and Hospital Play Specialism for post 16.

Kim has headed up Teacher Training in FE/HE, worked as a Curriculum Development Officer and on EU-funded projects. She has tutored and supervised on MA programmes in Leadership and Management and as a Research Associate for UCL, Institute of Education.

Latterly – leading Child Development courses and examining in the UK and abroad for QTS and as a Practitioner Doctorate Tutor, Research and Development Officer at the University of Buckingham. Kim has Nursery Nursing qualifications, a BE’d (Hons) in Secondary Education, MA in Education (SEN) and a Doctorate, DFCOT. Her main research areas; communication in learning and reflective practice at FE and HE and through Continuing Professional Development for teachers and leaders.
