Dr Adelina McLeod

Consultant Geriatrician in the North East of England

Dr. Adelina McLeod graduated from Newcastle Medical school in 2010 and is a Consultant Geriatrician in the North East of England.  She has been involved in medical education since 2015 gaining a post-graduate certificate in medical education from the University of Dundee in 2019. Adelina was the Chair of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) Trainee and Members Committee during the COVID Pandemic. Here, she helped shape the College’s national and international response to the educational needs of doctors during the pandemic, including supporting rapid and dynamic changes to post-graduate medical training in the UK. She has been involved in launching novel national programs such as the Associate Regional Advisors’ network for the RCPE and a successful new podcast series ‘Clinical Conversations’.

Adelina said, “my experiences in supporting doctors and students during the pandemic have shaped my understanding of the vital importance that good leadership plays in supporting the welfare of others.”

​Adelina believes that patient care is enhanced when people perform at their best. She is passionate that all clinicians are equipped with the tools to do this, including promoting and maintaining their own well-being and resilience.
